Job Description:
The Facilities Project Manager will be responsible for all
aspects of the planning and implementation of capital projects,
including renovations, expansions, mid to large size facilities and
operations projects in our various offices across US/Canada. The
Facilities Project Manager will be responsible for providing
initiative and project based cross-functional support for the
Facilities team to ensure the successful execution of high-level
operational projects and standardized processes across the
region.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage entire project execution process throughout project
lifecycle; act as key point of contact and ZEISS representative
throughout the design, permitting, build-out and close-out
processes
- Develop and maintain corporate standards for workplace
utilization, design, and capital project execution, including
adherence to tenant improvement requirements and local building
codes and standards
- Responsibilities vary from identifying opportunities to
gathering data and analytics, project management, budget tracking,
vendor management, dashboard creation, and communication to
internal and external stakeholders
- Projects are often multi-phased and have multiple funding
streams and stakeholders
- Independently determine general approach and specific solutions
to technical problem; demonstrate good judgment in making
commitments and risk-taking
- Work to optimize operational efficiency at each site and serve
as the point of contact for all operational procedures communicated
from Global
- Assist with daily escalations and project assistance for
facilities team
- Identify opportunities to enhance department processes
- Follow through on all employee requests to ensure success and
employee satisfaction
- Provide quality control for respective workstreams under
facilities umbrella
- Travel to ZEISS offices throughout the U.S./Canada
(approximately 25%)

Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering, construction
management, or related field
- 6+ years of professional project management, construction
management, and/or facilities capital project management experience
leading project portfolio
- Fluency in reading and evaluating construction plans (e.g. --
architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural,
etc.)
- Understanding of building code and impact on tenant improvement
projects
- Ability to use construction project management related software
tools (e.g. -- Microsoft Project, AutoCAD)
- Must exhibit sound decision-making qualities
- Demonstrate strong initiative and customer service
orientation
- A comprehensive understanding of accounting process
- Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to
formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions,
conclusions, or solutions
- Analyze and interpret various types of data to draw conclusions
and solve problems
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
with a wide variety of company personnel and external business
partners
- Willingness to acquire new skills and competencies throughout
career
- Proficient knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office
applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
The annual pay range for this position is $95,700 -$120,000.
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as
job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience,
& complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales
