Job Description:

The Wholesale is Underwriter is responsible for processing and underwriting residential loans from RESPA through document drawing with minimum supervision.

The key functions include but are not limited to the following:

?Review and evaluate credit reports, preliminary report, judgments, bankruptcy documents, appraisal and income documentation.

?Perform DU/LE and investor underwriting findings; create loan conditions; prepare and mail conditional approval letter/NOI per regulation B/ECOA

?Analyze and calculate Income Documentation such as personal and business income statements. Make sure all necessary documentation is requested to support final loan decisions.

?Contact client to review loan program and conditions

?Follow up on appraisals and any outstanding conditions (i.e. demands, insurance, etc.)

?Perform verbal verification of employment on borrower, if applicable

?Contact client via phone, e-mail on a regular basis

?Approve complex loans on conforming, jumbo, CBLX, CALHRA, wholesale and purchase products

?Assist the Director of the department on special projects

?Quality control broker packages

The Ideal candidate will have:

?A Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance; or 5 years related experience in processing mortgage loans or financial industry.

?5-7 years experience in underwriting residential loans.

?Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.

?Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

?Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

?Ability to handle competing priorities effectively and within established timeframes.

?Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
