The VP, Operations oversees centralized operations including system administration & optimization of member service platforms, incident escalation management, operational communications & team member change readiness, specialized services, business operation transformation, and the application of operational risk standards including governance processes to create solutions for minimizing emerging operational risk. - -The Vice President, Central Operations is a member of Patelco's Leadership Team responsible for enabling business agility and organizational performance for operational functions that support member-facing teams to effectively serve our members, and protect, preserve, and promote our members' financial health and well-being. The VP, Operations oversees centralized operations including system administration & optimization of member service platforms, incident escalation management, operational communications & team member change readiness, specialized services, business operation transformation, and the application of operational risk standards including governance processes to create solutions for minimizing emerging operational risk. - -ResponsibilitiesAchievement of strategic and annual business plan, including monitoring and managing key objectives and goals. Partner with leaders cross-functionally to execute on strategic initiatives, priorities and agreed upon focus. Transform our business operations with simplified processes to enable delivery to members with digitized experiences and intelligent process automation. Continuously improve workflows to create best in class member experience journeys by enhancing and refining capabilities and processes to adopt process improvements for operational efficiency, complexity and scale. Drive outcomes with a sense of urgency and accountability, initiate standards, practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. Manage partnerships with vendors optimizing integrated solution offerings and services. Advance the use of data & analytics for decisioning and improve organizational performance. Maintain service levels and performance standards and manage all aspects of operational workflows to achieve our mission. Delegate and empower direct reports to make decisions within their areas of responsibility. Define and reinforce appropriate expectations, authorization levels and guidelines for direct reports. Ensure training and understanding of Credit Union policies and procedures as well as compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Collaborate with stakeholders and leverage process re-engineering/root cause analysis to process map and build business process requirements that improve workflows that enhances member service experiences and operational efficiencies. Automate end-to-end business processes and member interactions leveraging AI, RPA and API integrations.Ensure team readiness by overseeing the "Ask James" AI procedural knowledge center and operational communications.Manage the development, implementation, and reporting of business unit-level performance dashboards to maximize decision making, oversight, and accountabilityRole model leadership behavior aligned with Patelco's Leadership Capability Framework. Communicate effectively to audiences at various levels (e.g., Executive to front-line team members) with different areas of expertise, and/or with varied interests in the credit union (e.g., members, regulators, community leaders) demonstrating appropriate transparency, timeliness, and consistent stakeholder engagement. Demonstrate strong critical thinking, especially navigating between strategic planning and tactical execution.Outcome orientation with disciplined, methodical planning and speed to execution.
