The IT Lead, EMEA is a technical, managerial, and administrative position in Business Insights & Technology Services (BI&TS) and requires a broad knowledge of the IT function. This role leads the IT support function at our European Administrative offices and Manufacturing facilities. The IT Lead, EMEA plays a hands-on role in supporting the region, utilizing Mallinckrodt employees, third party service providers and by taking ownership of activities directly. Manages a team consisting of Mallinckrodt employees (1) and third party desk side support (1/2).The position reports to an IT Director. Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with site leadership to ensure alignment of information technology with business needs.
  • Accountable for the site information technology functions including technology implementation, support, and problem resolution through dotted line relationships with technical resources.
  • Develop or contribute to the development of capital project requests to fund the implementation of technology solutions.
  • Support IT security objectives regarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
  • Develop plans to ensure the continuity of critical site IT systems and minimize information loss in the event of a disaster.
  • Ensure the site is compliant with all corporate IT technology standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Advocate for business needs within BI&TS to ensure appropriate alignment and prioritization of information technology initiatives.
  • Manage local third party IS service contract - driving standards, maintaining service level agreement, ensuring locations are adequately supported.
  • Point of escalation for service issues
  • Support Executive Committee and Board of Directors for quarterly board meetings in Ireland
  • Provides input for overall IT budget consisting of hardware, software, labor, depreciation and other expenses. Includes forecasting of IT expenses for the fiscal year.
  • Participate in staff meetings and team meetings as required.
  • Develop understanding of general industry usage of supported technologies.
  • Develop basic understanding of business processes and business dependencies on supported technologies.
  • Develop relationships within IT and with supported customers to improve collaboration and teamwork necessary to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. Education / Experience / Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology(computer science, information systems, etc.) or related business field
    • 7 Years Information Systems Experience in IT Infrastructure at a manufacturing facility.
    • Business Knowledge - Strong understanding of how supported technologies are used in the business operations, consistently uses this knowledge effectively in daily support and handling unusual/critical issues
    • Communication skills - Strong verbal & written communication skills; Communications are complete & understandable to target audience; demonstrates effective listening skills; regularly handles difficult customers
    • Technical Proficiency - Extensive working experience with mobile device / PC / server hardware and operating systems, data backup and recovery. Knowledge of active directory, server virtualization technologies, networking, storage management, data security, and disaster recovery planning.
    • Analytical Abilities - Has advanced problem-solving skills including working collaboratively with peer technical teams to analyze & resolve cross-platform problems or to develop problem-solving techniques, tools & instruction for new or complex technologies or situations effectively requiring sensitivity and diplomacy--
    • Independence - Often works independently with only general direction; appropriately keeps management informed of relevant issues
    • Mentoring - Coach and mentor to staff personnel
    • Operational Support - Manages the daily operations of the IT function supporting a facility that typically handles
    • Leadership - Leads by example; provides context & motivation to team members
