The Senior Accounting Systems Analyst in Finance is responsible for applying principles of accounting to administer and maintain Finance-owned and managed configurations and applications. This role is also responsible for planning, conducting, and delivering analysis and requirements to solve highly sophisticated business problems through strategic technology solutions. The Senior Analyst will be working directly with individuals from various functions and levels within the organization, including Senior Management, and participating in walkthroughs with internal and external audit functions. The Senior Analyst is considered a high-level functioning specialist of our current state and to-be Financial systems and provides guidance and thought leadership over these functions.

Utilize technical competencies and functional business and accounting expertise to identify, evaluate and develop solutions and procedures that meet business user requirements.
Provide subject matter expertise for accounting system functions to Technology functions.
Work in multi-functional settings in projects and daily activities, including Technology, Audit, Accounting, and AP. Participate in design sessions to help identify gaps/opportunities.
Assess requirements and define solutions to best fit the needs of the business. Identify gaps, brainstorm workarounds or system changes, and assists in the determination of the justification for investment where needed
Define and document the business/system requirements and acceptance criteria and prepare/execute testing plans when custom development is needed for technology components such as user interfaces (screen, and GUI designs), reports, data conversions, interfaces to other applications, (including customizations to and interfaces between applications), exception handling, security, and other non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, system availability, etc.).
Provide ongoing maintenance to existing financial applications, including monitoring implemented systems/processes to ensure appropriate performance.
Participate in decision making for scheduled updates and conduct post update testing.
Handle support requests and ensure timely and accurate resolution of issues.
Engage with vendor service support groups; be main liaison for certain third parties.
Brainstorm and build/expand reporting capabilities to help support Leadership needs.
Maintain Chart of Accounts and ensure control procedures with respect to COA changes are in compliance with SOX requirements.
Be a conduit for change and process improvements for Finance applications.
Provides leadership and mentoring to other members of the team.

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field desired; or equivalent education and/or related work experience.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
One of the following - Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBATM), Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) desired but not required.
6-8 years of public accounting or general ledger experience through financials.
Excellent working knowledge of Chart of Account and General Ledger Management.
1-2 years of experience in SOX control participation (ownership, performer, processor, etc.).
5+ years of experience in a project participation role, such as Systems Analyst or project lead.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills; including process documentation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Knowledge of tools, processes, and operations planning.
Experience working with IT development staff on complex projects.
Strong analysis, project management, and reporting capabilities
Solid technical background with advanced personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Visio. BI, PowerQuery, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate, and SQL are a plus.
Ability to collaborate and take a lead role within a team of other business systems analysts and cross-functional peers to achieve expected outcomes.
Strong customer service skills.
