Job Description:

Utilizes financial and risk management concepts and/or techniques for analysis and monitoring of market risks. The senior risk analyst will participate in the preparation and analysis of daily risk management reports (positions, MTM P/L etc),communicate the results to other groups as needed, and will be responsible for monitoring compliance and developing risk management policy and procedures. Primary Responsibilities: Ensures that the company's market risks are identified, measured, and monitored. Creates timely daily reports of P&L, Position, and MTM as well as the analysis and explanation of changes between periods. Creates weekly credit exposure reports and highlights those counterparties that are approaching credit limits. Monitors conformance with the Risk Management Policies and Procedures, and assists in the periodic review to ensure the Policies are up to date and accurate. Monitors daily broker balances and promptly responds to any margin calls. As needed, responds promptly to margin calls from other Supply counterparties. Recalls cash collateral from brokers and counterparties when possible or requested by the Director, Finance or Treasury team. Participates in the development of procedures and guidelines to ensure the quality and integrity of IGS Energy positions, risk measurements and model valuations. Substantiates the accuracy of valuations and risk measurement calculations. Prepares simulations and analyses as required; for example, stress tests regarding market pricing, acquisition stress testing, etc. Validates details of all transaction confirmations received vs the details input into the company systems by the Supply group. Works with Supply and/or counterparty to resolve any discrepancies. Participates in special projects within the team, particularly in terms of improving risk management reporting and process improvements. Gathers information and compiles the appropriate files for the annual year end audit related to derivatives (ASC 815). This includes obtaining information from multiple systems and groups, intensive validation of the data, pulling samples to validate accuracy, performing MTM calculations, and updating footnotes. Supplies auditors with all requested supporting documentation in a timely manner. Evaluates sales contracts with the team for appropriate derivative accounting treatment Monitors the contract approval process and ensures each document is reviewed and approved by all of the appropriate parties. Ensures that all documents are fully executed and stored appropriately. Acts as the intermediary between the Company and counterparties during contract negotiations and the document execution process. Completes monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting and filings required by governmental agencies and counterparties (FERC, RTOs, suppliers, etc.). Compiles detailed Company information to provide to counterparties in response to Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. Supports the Supply team by updating and maintaining the Company's ETRM system & trading platforms, working with new counterparties and brokers to open up more trading options, communicating updates or dispute resolutions to and from counterparties, etc. Implements industry best practices. All other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Logical reasoning and problem solving capabilities. High level of analytical and technical skills (Excel/Word/internal and third party systems) required. Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks. Understanding of wholesale and retail energy markets, trading products, regional forward price curves, pricing strategies and physical assets (storage and transport) in order to monitor Front Office transactions. Strong understanding of Price Risk Management and derivatives (futures, swaps, options, etc) that can be used to minimize exposure to adverse price movements. Business Acumen - Knows the business and department roles and operates with an awareness of the industry standards and procedures. Operates with the appropriate sense of urgency due to the time sensitive nature of many aspects of the role. Communication - Interacts openly, timely and directly with others.
