This is a very visible, significant role within the company to support the successful execution of major capital projects globally and to provide technical expertise in the support of manufacturing sites across all Ashland business units. This position will report to Design Group Manager - Capital Engineering.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Preparing scopes of work for consulting engineering companies and systems integrators with respect to power, instrumentation, process controls, and safety systems.Conducting formal reviews of preliminary and detailed design engineering documents supplied by consulting engineering companies, including data sheets, power distribution, control wiring, and P drawings, project schedules, constructability reviews, arc flash studies, and electrically hazardous area classifications.Participate in PHA-LOPAs and perform as a Subject Matter Expert for Safety Instrumented Systems and Machine Safety Systems to ensure compliance with Ashland's Engineering Standards.Oversee the process automation portions of capital projects including hardware specifications, network architecture, software programming, and cyber security.Collaborate with Ashland Capital Engineering multi-discipline teams; coordinate activity of plant personnel, consulting engineers, systems integrators, and other professionals to ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with quality and schedule expectations.In addition, the job responsibilities include planning and performing the on site commissioning of power, instrumentation, and process automation aspects of capital projects.Support of plants as a Subject Matter Expert in the areas of electrical safety, power, instrumentation, and cyber securityTravel of approximately 30%, primarily domestic and including international.In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:Must be eligible to work in the United StatesBaccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering7-13 years' experience in process (chemical, pulp & paper, food & beverage, oil & gas, water & waste water, or thermal power) or heavy manufacturing industriesExperience with U.S. codes such as The National Electrical CodeExperience in performing Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests of process automation equipmentField experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup support oflow voltage ( instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, analytical)process control systems (PLC/HMI, DCS, Networking)The following skill sets are preferred by the Capital Engineering Department:Knowledge of electrical safety based upon NFPA70EExperience with electrical hazardous area classification based upon NFPA 497 and 499Experience with Medium Voltage Plant Power DistributionExperience with Safety Instrumented Systems and IEC 61511Experience with Machine Safety Systems and ISO 13849Experience with industrial control system cyber security and IEC 62443AutoCAD experienceInternational experience in Asia-Pacific, Europe, or South AmericaIn more than 100 countries, the people of Ashland LLC.
