The Project Surveyor will be responsible for providing office and field survey support to the site development and transportation groups. The successful candidate will work in the Dublin, CA office and support surveying/mapping, GIS and Civil Engineering activities. Typical projects range in scope from site development, roadway and utility designs, to industrial and military facilities including master planning. The successful candidate will be trained to operate as a survey field tech preforming topographic, boundary and GPS control surveys. Familiarity and interest in emerging technology such as Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) surveys and laser scanning is desirable.

The position may require some travel and can be physically demanding. Qualified candidates must be able to lift and carry over 40 lbs. for extended distances across rough terrain.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Collect survey data as required in accordance with industry and client specifications, scopes of work, and work plans; * Willing and able to continually learn new techniques and processes as well as operate various types of equipment to become more efficient; * Provide technical assistance for CADD operators, design staff as to what the project looks like in the field and coordinate site visits with project team personnel; * Work within a project team environment under the direction of a project manager and coordinate with project engineers and other designers to ensure project deliverables meet all necessary standards; * Perform survey office work such as mapping and along with and under the direction of a licensed land surveyor

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Minimum 3-5 years of field surveying and/or AutoCAD Civil 3d experience; * LSIT registration in the State of California (or ability to obtain within 6 months) is desirable; * Previous or current survey-related coursework a plus; * Background will ideally include civil engineering project work and knowledge of municipal and state projects; * Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk related products required. * Familiarity with Microstation, word processing and scheduling programs a plus; * Knowledge of survey data collection methods and data processing; * Valid California State Driver's License

EDUCATION

* High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred * College Level Coursework in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying highly desirable
