Bidder EligibilityThis Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.Level promotions (Member to Senior) may be permitted, but are not guaranteed, on this requisition.Employees must remain in their current position for one year before applying for a new position, with the exception of student interns. The requirement also applies to those who are telecommuting and working virtually.Any concerns about the ability to meet this requirement should be directed to HR Solutions at (505) 284-4700.What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team!On any given day, you may be called on to:Complete administrative services, such as scheduling appointments and answering department telephones, and assist with direct patient careProvide back up support to other department functions when neededWork on special department projects as assigned by the Nurse Coordinator or Department ManagerProficiently use Microsoft Software, including Powerpoint, Excel, Word, OutlookUse EHR systems (Allscripts)Perform various patient care tasks, such as: collect urine specimen samples; perform breath alcohol testing; perform blood draws; collect and enter vitals; check in, room, and check out patientsAssist providers as neededQualifications We RequireHigh school diploma plus 3 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceTwo or more years of experience working in a clinic or hospitalExperience scheduling and checking in patientsExperience taking vital signs and administering injectionsAbility to obtain a Phlebotomy certification in the State of CaliforniaM.A. certification in the State of CaliforniaAbility to obtain and maintain an L-level security clearanceQualifications We DesireOne or more years of experience in occupational medicineProven experience collecting and handling drug testsComfortable using a variety of population management software and tools.Certified drug tester or experienceProficient using Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience using EHR systems, preferably Allscripts.Superior customer service via telephone and face to faceProven experience collecting nasopharangeal samples for COVID testingAbout Our TeamHBE (formerly Benefits & Health Services) has anintegrated approach to the well-being of our employees and their families.
