Job Description:
We are looking for a talented, self-motivated and "hands-on"
Electrical Engineer to join our team and help in the area of
electrical integration and power distribution unit design. The
Electrical Engineer for our X-ray Microscope platforms is the go-to
person and design authority for all electrical integration and
power distribution related issues. This includes the definition of
new designs but also the maintaining and improving of existing
integration schemes, as well as associated documentation. This
hands-on position touches all aspects of electro-mechanical
sub-systems from conception to troubleshooting on the manufacturing
floor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assume leadership in electrical integration and power
distribution system design, test, integration and
implementation.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical and system teams in
subsystem and system integration processes.
- Provide production and field service support by directly
interacting with manufacturing and field service teams.
- Write technical documentation and procedures that meet the
defined quality standards for manufacturing and service as
required.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems
- 3D Concept CAD and detail 2D schematic drawing development, as
well as, maintenance of existing electrical schematics, CAD
drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Design and documenting cable/cable harness assemblies.
- Prototyping cables, harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies,
low and line voltage power distribution systems.
- Prototyping simple passive and active circuits.
- Manage the technical relationship with outsource cable and PCB
suppliers and consultants.
- Assist Versa system optical
alignment/integration/troubleshooting in the engineering lab as
required.
- Serve as technical lead during regulatory approvals (UL, CE,
etc). Note: Essential functions may not be limited to the tasks and
responsibilities listed within this section. Ordering of essential
functions does not necessarily reflect importance of item.
- BS EE preferred with 5+ years' experience or AA in EE with 10+
years' experience in electrical engineering.
- Solid knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience using standard EE bench equipment such as
oscilloscopes, soldering stations etc.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering components used
in electrical integration schemes (i.e., connectors, relays, PLC
modules, etc.).
- Expert in debugging and troubleshooting complex
electro-mechanical systems.
- Expert in creating "readable" electrical schematics for both
manufacturing and assembly and field service
- Experience using 3D electrical-mechanical CAD systems a
plus
- Experience using SolidWorks Electrical CAD system a plus
- Experience designing simple circuit boards a plus
- PLC programming experience a plus
- Proficiency with motion control systems a plus
The annual salary range for this position is $115,400 -
$144,300
The salary offered for this role may be influenced by factors such
as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education,
experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus.
