Job Title: Lead DevOps EngineerLocation: 100% RemoteDuration: Permanent Summary: We are currently seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer on behalf of our client - a fast-growing healthcare technology organization who is disrupting the industry through cutting-edge applications and solutions. JOB SUMMARY The Lead DevOps partners across multiple functions; Engineering, IT Operations, Security, PMO, and outside vendors, to help build the cloud infrastructure to meet the needs of our customers and internal teams. Pairing excellent individual and team communication skills with exacting technical analysis. The Lead DevOps will effectively delegate tasks one moment, then "roll up their sleeves and resolve complex issues the next. This role leads a team focused on evolving our technology, planning, preparing, and executing on growth, and assisting our wider engineering team in adopting DevOps principles within a dynamic, virtual company environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Lead team to develop and maintain the continuous integration and deployment solutions.Play a critical operational role by troubleshooting issues in development, production, and our entire DevOps infrastructure.Contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of industry-leading cloud-based software solutions to run across different clouds and scale to millions of users.Be ahead of the cutting edge of trends in technology and lead new approaches to scalability and high availability of distributed cloud container architecture & services.Design, architect and implement network security features and functionality such as network access controls, firewalls and subnetting for isolation.Lead team to develop web and mobile applications, APIs, SDKs and other tools as required.Document software designs, functional and design specifications, presentations, and other documents as needed.Own the development of automated monitoring and alerting solutions for engineering applications.Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate feedback, training, and development.Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities.Conduct regular performance appraisals. Ensure adherence to established company policies and procedures and promptly correct deficiencies with staff if need arises. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to: 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT/engineering as a senior contributor.5+ years of extensive DevOps experience.Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure and cloud-scale software with cloud-vendors: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. "Carrier grade solutions " experience a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience working with AWS core services: VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, ELB.Comfortable with writing tools for automation and deployment tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Github, Gitlab, Kubernetes, eksctl, Docker, Terraform, Cloud Formation.Able to work with a small team of qualified DevOps engineers and lead them by example.Solid understanding of cloud design in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and security.Hands-on experience with one or more of: NodeJs, Flutter, Golang, python, shell, C++, Java, JavaScript.Hands-on experience with security tool such as Cloudflare, Stackrox, Salt.Hands-on experience with logging, monitoring and alert tools such as NewRelic, Datadog, Sentry, PagerDuty, CloudWatch, StackDriver, SumoLogic, Prometheus, Splunk and ELK.Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced diverse high-performance environment.Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications.Strong self-initiative, passion, interpersonal skills, and adaptability to new technology.Proficient in Microsoft Office: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.Ability to work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking.Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.Highly detail oriented. Physical Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively within the work environment, read and write using the primary language with the workplace.Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.Frequent speaking and listening to clients, staff, and others in the workplace.Ability to utilize computer, cell phone.Frequent sitting. CONDITIONS OF ENPLOYMENT Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.Must attend any required training.SDL2017
