Job Description:
EHS/HS Site Supervisor Are you an experienced, early childhood
expert, looking for an opportunity to apply your skills and
knowledge while leading a team of ECE professionals, supporting

Position works in Child Development (CFDP) area of services. This
service area provides early childhood education, social services,
and parent education to 1,000 families with young children each
year via Head Start/Early Head Start and State Preschool. Offering
this support as early as possible promotes healthy families and
encourages parents to nurture their child’s physical, social and
cognitive development. Head Start has been improving the lives of
low-income children and families in Santa Cruz County since 1965
through high quality, comprehensive child development, and family
support services. Head start supports school readiness and promotes
healthy families through delivery of education, health, and social
services. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Site Supervisor, that under
the direction of the Education Manager will be responsible for
supervision and oversight of the operations of several center base
sites that serve 6 months - 5 year old children. The Site
Supervisor will assure regulatory and legal compliance with
federal, state and local regulations; communicate with parents and
community; provide supervision, monitoring and ensure training of
all center staff; monitor compliance in all aspects of Head Start
Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing, and State of
California Preschool program regulations. Position is full-time,
exempt. Annual salary range is $64,500- $66,000 dependent on
experience and education; pay differential for bilingual skills
awarded upon qualification. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises
and mentors Teacher Directors, Teachers, Teacher Assistants and
Family Services Advocates. Observes and monitors classrooms for
compliance and prepares related paperwork and reports; Serves as
the Hiring Manager for their cluster staff; provides timely &
accurate follow up and tracking of documentation and information of
new and potential hires. Develops/implements onboarding plan for
new hires and any internal job/staff re-assignments. Maintains
compliance with federal and state regulations and Agency Policies
at all centers/sites. Ensure staff are trained on developmentally
appropriate practices and agency policies and procedures; Oversees
the case management work with families Acts as a liaison between
community, school districts, and other agencies; Maintains budget
within accepted limits; tracks purchasing and all other spending
Oversees the orientation of center volunteers/interns. Ensures
facilities adhere to regulations at all time Ensure/supports parent
engagement activities within their cluster. Monitors overall center
operations to ensure children and families are receiving high
quality services: conducts announced and unannounced center visits,
identify cluster needs through one-on-one meetings and site
observations. Initiates substitute coverage procedures, if
necessary, steps in to provide coverage. QUALIFICATIONS B.A. degree
in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development
or related field. 3 years’ experience directly supervising Minimum
3 years administrative experience Proficient in Microsoft Office
programs – Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Excellent written
and verbal communication skills Must have strong leadership and
communication skills, initiative, use good judgment and problem
solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, successfully
Ability to review data to make informed decisions and create action
steps for self and with others Ability to work independently and
within a team, successfully. Knowledge of the community and county
resources. Experience implementing strength base approach in work
with families Knowledge of California Licensing Regulations a Plus
Ability to work at children’s physical level, by: bending,
squatting, sitting & rising from floor, moving swiftly (coverage in
classroom) OTHER REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Criminal Record Clearance
before hire and through duration of employment; Physical Exam / TB
/ IZ Clearance Valid CA Driver’s License and good driving record;
Valid Vehicle Insurance. Proof of citizenship or right to work in
the United States; Flexible schedule, ability to work some early
morning, evenings and weekends. PREFERENCE Bilingual verbal &
