Job Description Job Description Seeking a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our corporate finance team. This mid-level, exempt position is responsible for providing oversight and management of the organization’s financial records while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst maintains the general ledger and reporting tables, leads the monthly close process, ensures timely completion of reconciliations, and reviews all ledger postings from subsystems and external processing systems. The role is also responsible for preparing funding requests and reports for multiple government and other grants, evaluating the appropriateness of cost allocation methodologies across programs, creating custom reports using Drill Point, and producing accurate, multi-segment monthly financial statements. Additional responsibilities include assisting with audits and CPA-prepared tax returns, participating in or leading cross-departmental projects such as new software implementations, recommending and implementing process improvements, and fostering a cooperative team environment through mentorship and collaboration. The ideal candidate is a motivated, innovative self-starter with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, and a minimum of five years of full-time accounting experience, including at least one year in nonprofit fund accounting. Advanced Excel skills, experience with general ledger and month-end/year-end close processes, custom reporting, and project management are required. Proficiency with accounting software is essential, with experience using Abila (formerly MIP) Nonprofit Fund Accounting Software preferred.
