We are looking for a senior leader on optical technology to join our team. This person will be responsible for leading advanced research and development group in exploring new technology, components, design architecture and advanced manufacturing process to enable Molex continuously to provide innovative optical products and solutions for optical network and next gen 6G network.This person will work with multi-function teams, including sales and marketing, product line managers, Multi-disciplinary R&D team, Manufacturing Engineering, etc. and work with colleagues in different geographic sites. What You Will Do Strategic planning of new enabling technology roadmap. Investigating new component technology and manufacturing process. Initiating internal research program and industry partnership strategy.Proposing new optical design concepts, conducting technology and platform evaluation for next generation optical communication productsLeading product feasibility study, technical planning on development program, including cost and risk analysis, timeline analysis and trade off studyGuiding development team on architecture and algorithm design, system analysis, modeling and simulation.Guiding development team on high level testing framework design - functionality, performance, reliabilityMentoring new technical leadersSupporting PLM and marketing team on customer interfacing, Roadmap exchange, etc. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Strong knowledge on Optical Physics, Material, Spectroscopy, Signal Processing. Strong technical leadership experience in optical communication system and key component development, including strategic planning, project management, and product commercialization.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, coaching, and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve optimal performance.
  • Extensive R&D experience and expertise in telecom networks, free-space optics, ASIC design, liquid crystal modulator, LCoS, etc. Expertise in complex free space optical systems, micro-fabrication, optical assembly, packaging and automation
  • 15+ years' experience of technical leadership and proven track record in managing multiple complex projects with critical deliverables and demanding expectations, while under strict scope, schedule, and resource constraints.
  • Ph.D. degree in physics, applied physics, optics and optical engineering, electrical engineering with optical orientations. What Will Put You Ahead
    • Strong leadership experience in early-stage technology commercialization, including conducting technology due diligence, managing initial technology development, and implementing commercialization plans.For this role, we anticipate paying $200K-$240K per year. in base salary. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
